Winning the Jinding Award! Desay Battery Redefines New Paradigm for Energy Storage Safety with "Active Safety" Technology

2025-12-24

On December 18–19, the "2025 (10th) Qidian Lithium Battery Industry Annual Conference & Qidian Lithium Battery Jinding Award Ceremony, Commemoration of the 10th Anniversary of Start Research Institute, and 2025 User-side Energy Storage & Battery Technology Forum," jointly organized by Qidian Lithium Battery, Qidian Energy Storage, and Qidian Research Institute, was grandly held in Shenzhen! Desay Battery was honored with the "2025 Industrial & Commercial Energy Storage Battery Technology Innovation Award" for its outstanding performance and technological innovation in the energy storage field. Yan Yaofeng, R&D Director of Desay Battery , was invited to attend and deliver a speech.

The Qidian Jinding Award, themed "New Cycle, New Technology, New Ecosystem," gathered over a hundred industry technical experts and research institutions from China and abroad for joint review. It aims to encourage innovation and development in the new energy battery industry and recognize enterprises that have made significant contributions to the industry's progress, making it one of the most influential and credible awards in the sector.

On July 23, Desay Battery announced to the global market the official mass production of its independently developed active safety cells and systems. In the era of AI, Desay Battery proactively addresses market needs to support industry development, employing multiple safety protection measures to tackle core industry pain points.

At the Industrial & Commercial Energy Storage and Technology Forum, Yan Yaofeng delivered an in-depth presentation titled "Active Safety—Redefining the Energy Security Paradigm: Next-Generation Technology Solutions Based on Real-Time Perception and Intelligent Response," offering key insights and forward-looking directions for the industry's innovative development.

With the introduction and implementation of new industry regulations and surging demand from regions such as Europe and the United States, the safety and lifespan of energy storage systems have shifted from optional add-ons to mandatory requirements. In response to this trend, safety prevention and control must evolve from "post-incident handling" to "source elimination," while lifespan management must align with long-term operational needs. Yan Yaofeng addressed the limitations in current industry practices, such as delayed warnings and gaps in health assessment, and systematically elaborated on the essence of Desay Battery's active safety technology, focusing on "making the inside of cells visible and their health status evaluable."

Yan Yaofeng introduced that Desay Battery, based on in-depth research into the thermal runaway mechanisms of cells, has developed an innovative "7+1" full-chain active safety technology system. Building on traditional protection measures, this system incorporates "active safety cells + a safety management system." By embedding sensors, it monitors key indicators such as internal cell pressure and temperature in real time, accurately capturing early signs of degradation triggered by reactions such as gas generation. These data are seamlessly transmitted via a high-precision acquisition and collaborative design foundation to the EMS system, which acts as an intelligent brain, enabling uninterrupted monitoring and intelligent analysis from the cell level to the cloud.

This system fundamentally transforms the passive response model. Its EMS brain can keenly detect subtle fluctuations in cells and issue precise warnings up to 30 days in advance, achieving source-level prevention and control. It delivers multiple core values to customers: intercepting risks at their nascent stage through layered safeguards; precisely locating specific cells and providing maintenance recommendations during anomalies, significantly improving operational efficiency; and ultimately elevating safety management from reliance on manual passive remediation to a system-guaranteed, 24/7 active prevention model, offering customers unprecedented safety certainty.

"The realization of technological value relies on deep accumulation and authoritative endorsement," Yan Yaofeng emphasized. Desay Battery holds over 80 domestic patents and more than 10 international patents covering core aspects such as AI cells, sensors, and EMS algorithms, establishing a comprehensive intellectual property barrier. The technology has been certified by authoritative organizations, including the Chinese Society for Electrical Engineering and the China Industrial Association of Power Sources, meeting high industry standards and eliminating the need for additional compliance verification by customers. The solution adopts a modular and full-chain collaborative approach, enabling rapid adaptation to diverse scenarios ranging from portable and residential use to industrial and commercial energy storage, as well as special applications, embodying the philosophy that "energy safety knows no boundaries."

The path to energy storage safety is long and challenging, yet progress is achievable through perseverance. In the future, Desay Battery will uphold an open and collaborative philosophy, working closely with partners across the industry chain to jointly build and continuously update an open energy storage safety database, driving technological evolution with data. We believe that through the collective efforts of the entire industry, higher and more unified energy storage safety standards will be established, laying a more reliable and trustworthy foundation for the global energy transition.
